High Pressure Cleaners…

If you use high pressure cleaners on your block paving it is imperative that the area is re-sanded using Kiln Dried Jointing Sand.

Oil Stains…

Oil penetrates readily into concrete but prompt removal of an oil spill or leak will prevent staining. Soak up the oil with absorbent paper towels or cloth, try to avoid wiping as this will spread the stain and drive the oil further into the concrete blocks. Cover the affected area with a dry absorbent powder (for example Portland Cement) and leave for a day. Repeat until no more oil is absorbed by the powder.

Foundations…

The existing surface of the driveway will be removed and then excavated to a depth of 250mm below the finished level. Dependant on ground conditions Blockwise will lay approximately 150mm compacted thickness of MOT Type 1 roadbase material with a compacted sand bed of 40mm for the foundations of your Regency driveway.

Timings…

An average 50m2 drive would take about 3-4 days to complete, weather permitting with 2-3 men on site.

Finishing…

Any block that need cutting will be split using either a disc cutter or block splitter. The paved area is then compacted with a vibrating plate compactor; the joints are then filled with kiln dried sand and then recompact.
